How to paint
by Lindsie
Have the inclination to paint.
Find one of the teeny canvases you bought two years ago. Go buy two more, just for kicks.
Find your pallet. Realize that the last time you painted, you didn’t clean out your pallet. Spend one-half hour with boiling water trying to scrape off hard layers of acrylic.
Look at blank canvasses for a while.
Sulk because you can’t find the perfect teeny brushes.
Start something that looks like what you’ve been drawing lately.
Stop for a while.
Compare your work with others. Sulk for a bit.
Find your teeny brushes in (surprise) your brush box.
Think about how painting is different than drawing.
Compare yourself to others again. Feel sad.
Think about using beads. Feel better.
To be continued.
