• I still don’t like the book I’m reading very much but I’ve gotten into the rhythm of of it, and the non-excitement.

I was in a bad mood this morning because the dishes I was washing wouldn’t stack properly or well in the dish rack to dry. I hate the sound of falling, clattering dishes. I even only have only one or two dishes in the sink at a time so they don’t clank against one another. Vexsome noises!

There is new toner waiting for me at the post office (ordering it online was cheaper than anywheres in town, even with postage.) I will try to be more responsible with this one, maybe, to make it last longer? Perhaps I will initiate a cleaner, more simple design in my publications. ??

I attended two meetings this week at work. I usually attend zero, or at most one every other week. They were not painful, were not meant to be meetings where everyone reports on what they are working on, which I don’t like, because then I also have to report on what I am doing, which means talking out loud, and having people look at me.

  • Also today I started a new book but I don’t really like it. For some reason I never like stories about middle aged women. Maybe I will later. Maybe I won’t. I just remembered I’ve forgotten to make lunch for tomorrow. Maybe it is a day for eating out. Or maybe I will make something right now (no, I’m lying. If I make something right now it will be for eating right now but I’m not hungry.) (Or am I?)

  • I just saw a guy walking down the street with a drawing of a guitar case, only it was a real guitar case.

  • I was so sleepy today. But then I had a rest for a few minutes on my bed and went to dance and it was a good class. Part of this was that there was no new material. The reason there was no new material was that the teacher didn’t have enough time to prep. The reason she couldn’t prep was because the studio was full of smoke when she arrived. The smoke was from the fire in the basement. The building is still standing but the smell of smoke was intense.

    I should write more.

  • I walk slow in the summer. In the winter I walk fast because it’s cold outside and I am in a hurry to get inside where it’s warm. In the summer I walk slow as there is heat and I don’t like to get sweaty.

  • So I took the train to Duncan this morning. The first trestle was
fine, I even leaned over to see further down. Fun. But the train
sort of leaned over during the course of the second trestle, so I got
the view whether I wanted it or not. And in this case, with the train
leaning over like it was, I didn’t really want to see the view. I
leaned in the opposite direction– you know, to make sure that the
train didn’t tip down into the raveen. And then in the middle of the
span, the train stopped, just so we could all enjoy the view. Eeeeee!

  • In passing.

Through my open apartment window, I can smell someone’s dinner cooking. It smells delicious. I can also hear someone *typing on a typewriter*.

I want dinner and a typewriter!!

  • I thought I was going to stay in bed this morning and read, but instead I got up and took my bed apart to wash it. The laundry fee in the building is going up a whole shiny quarter per loadon Tuesday so I thought I’d get a token wash in to save money. I’m OK for the rise, however, as currently my ratio of quarters (of which I will now need three per load) to loonies (one per load) is in favour of the quarters.

Note: Vanilla Rice Milk is good in Earl Grey tea.

I also meant to have a light breakfast (guacamole or oatmeal) but instead I had:
    5 perogies
    3 bacons
    2 eggs
    5 cherry tomatoes
1 mug of Earl Grey tea with Vanilla Rice Milk

None of my plans for today are working out at all! Not to fret, however, as I will make up a new bed and rest in it later

Note 2: This week I was complimented twice on my use of the word “Fret”. As in “Don’t fret if I am late back from my break” and “Have you been fretting all day?”

  • Books of the weekend, by Lindsie.
I read two books this weekend. They were easy and entertaining. The first was “Life of Pi” which many people have read before me and have declaired “good”. I can’t argue with this, however, there were too many animals, or details of animals. Whatever. I also read “The Flying Troutmans” by Miriam Toews. Quite lovely, and made me, with my empathy-superpower, act flaky for a little while. Here is a quote as part of this review that will hopefully demonstrate my appreciation of the work: “Thebes said that if she was eighteen and old enough to drink she’d start a book club.”

I read these books while in the sun and now my skin smells sweet.

PS! Susan and I were walking downtown yesterday and overheard the following:

Old Lady: That’s a lovely jacket.

Hard Core Punk: Thank you, I made it myself.

    Old Lady: Well it’s beautiful.

    Hard Core Punk: Thank you.

Me and Susan (just passing by): Hehehehe! Awesome!

  • I have two lunch dates planned this week (so far, Susan!). One is a hamburger eating contest. Life be good, considering this is a five day workweek for me. AND considering I just paid my first ever phone bill. That’s right. Mark the day.
