I think I have figured out that I have traded my balance, coordination and endurance in dance class for stomach muscles. This is not a good trade, considering I barely know how to use said muscles.
My arms are ok, as long as I don’t have to move them too quickly. Still really long. A little less floopy.

The more dance classes I do, it seems, the worse dancer I am becoming. Or maybe I’m just going through an awkward stage? I can’t seem to get through a whole class without getting super-pooped. I can do technique excersies fine at the start of class but when it comes time to apply them to combinations and actual choreography, I am too tired to hold any of it. This despite my new discovery that I now have usable stomach muscles that I can employ and use to hold things like legs in the air.
I don’t know. Maybe I should get a better night’s sleep or something. I’m missing class on Thurs this week because I have an eye appointment. (Thurs and Fri is when the place is open after work.) Whatever.

I’m a big fan of anniversaries.(Mum, you have to click that to see what it is… I’ve made it underlined now so you can tell it’s a link.)

I fear that I have lost some of my youthful inhibition when it comes to writing my journal entries. Or maybe it’s from knowing that it is on a publicly accessable internet site? I used to report on everything I did in my day and then how I felt about that, and how I felt about anything else that was going on. Now I report the occasional cleverness but little more. I know after a while of full on daily or semi-daily reporting, I may have grown bored and realized that many days were very much the same. For example, around 1999, 2000, 2001 or so my journal consists of what school work I didn’t do, and what Kenshin episodes I had watched. Funny, yes, but pretty boring.
For the record I haven’t watched Kenshin for a while, even though I have all the good episodes on CDs.
My new year’s resolution this year was to start writing in my blog once a day, which lasted one month (we can always look at the archives to see how this goal went…).
For the longest time I could, on any particular day, go back and see what I was up to a year ago. I miss that.

My hair is so long it’s distracting me from work. Seriously. I missed a call today because I was preening.
Oh just kidding but I came pretty close.
I’ve been lying in bed each morning and not wanting to get up because I am warm and cozy. I continue to dream until it’s well past the time I would usually consider too late, and then I get up an rush around to get ready. I don’t know how to make my bed less cozy, so I guess this is going to have to continue.
I watched “Watchmen” on Sunday, and actually, the big blue penis wasn’t as important as everyone I talked to about it prior to seeing the movie made it out to be. Dude was just naked. Or maybe since it was hyped up for me I was expecting more. I watched for it for like half an hour before I got a good view, but really, no big deal was made of it. (And that’s my review of the movie.)
I have to find out the hours of the Bay Cafeteria and post them at my desk. They have weird hours, at least at dinner time, and as this is becoming One Of My Favorite Places To Eat, I should know when I can and cannot go. For example, the downtown Victoria Smitty’s restaurant closes every day at 3pm, so no dinner. Also, in my own neighbourhood, Rosie’s diner closes at 8. So dinner, but no on Monday because it’s closed (at least last time I checked.)

I got my reminder to renew my driver’s licence yesterday, and I meant to go over and get it done today. (The office is only about three feet from the building where I work) However, I neglected to make my hair look reasonable, and my skin isn’t as clear as it might be, and then one of my coworkers commented on how 16 years old I look. So, since I have some time before it expires, I will wait before going in to get my new licence.
I will not, however, let it lapse, because that would just mean hasstle.

I had a good dance class last night. It was all new material, but I didn’t even mind that. I’ll try it all again tomorrow. It’s best to be at class the first day of the new material, as this is the only day the teacher has pity. I didn’t get yelled at.

I had a fun weekend. (Exept that ferries in both directions ran late. This was a problem going over to Van because the bus over there has to leave right on time, leaving a bunch of us to wait an hour for the next one. The only other option when stranded at Tswassen is to take a cab but I didn’t do that. It ended up being a 1/2 wait before the next bus came and the driver took pity on us and let us on to wait on the warm bus. On the way home, the 3 o’clock boat was actually the 3:30 boat, but there was an express bus into Vic waiting for us on the other side, which was nice. I haven’t checked the schedule to see if they sent one out special for us. Either way, it probably kept me from snapping…)
The show was very fun. 11 000 people there to watch dance. I was one of them. Also: screaming and whatnot. It was amazing to watch the dancers perform all of their tricks of strength and flexibility as though they are as simple as breathing. And many of my favorite dances from the show were performed, so that was pretty fun. These words aren’t describing it right. This does:
WHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
Other items of note that were enjoyable on this trip: we ate supper at Moxie’s before. This is the restaurant that is in the hotel we were at (the Sandman, just a few blocks from the place with the thing) and we went there again after the show for drinks (me) and dessert (Bonnie). There is a pool and hottub at the hotel and I used both of them. When I missed my second bus of the trip (trying to get the 1:00 ferry bus but having the b-line take too long to get me there and watching the ferry bus leave the station fro the light across the street) I went into Richmond and went to Daiso (formally called, in this blog, “the two-dollar store”) and bought goodies, including a new wallet. It’s just a card holder (I’l going to add some velcro or something so I can use one of the pockets for change) but it’s pink plaid and I already love it a lot. (My last zipper pouch that I’ve been using for maybe two years still works but Is looking a little frayed. All the sequins, amazingly, are still attached!)

January 1st seems like such a long time ago now. I was just thinking this morning how Jan is almost over and so I will have to get a new bus pass. On Jan 1st I had a great plan to visit Wal-Mart as I knew it would be open (only closed on Christmas Day and Easter Monday!) but I forgot that my December bus pass would not work. Outside there was a misty rain and I really didn’t want to walk around looking for a 7-11 or any place that might be open to sell me a new bus pass, and I didn’t want to use up my change just to bus myself to Wal-Mart. I made a deal with myself to walk to the store on the corner of Fort and Cook and if it wasn’t open to sell me a new bus pass I would walk home. I wasn’t feeling optimistic about it. However, as I turned the angle to get to the doorway the sign said “open” and in I went. “Wow” I said. (I don’t remember if there were flowers outside the store. Usually there are bunches of flowers outside the store for sale, indicating it’s openess, but there musn’t have been any because I remember having to turn the corner to see the sign on the door before I knew it was open.) So I bought my bus pass and then, having missed the #3 bus that would have taken be downtown to connect to a bus that would get me to Wal-Mart, I had to walk down to Douglas. I got wet and it was cold. But the bus was warm and by the time I was coming home again the rain had stopped. I think that was the day I needed a new remote for my TV (and it was only $7!) and a bunch of other stuff that is cheaper at Wal-Mart. Yes, that was the time because I remember looking up places where I might be able to buy a new remote on New Year’s day. Future Shop would have also been open, but I don’t like it there as much as I like Wal-Mart.
