Month: December 2006

  • I saw Amber today. I didn’t even just see her, I also talked to her and poked her a bit too. She is so superior.

Yesterday was boxing day and I spent the whole day fiddling with my new computer. Large percentages of this time “fiddling” was, I suppose, being able to watch Live Action Hana Yori Dango on a full screen. And for one thing, I can’t make my mouse’s scroll wheel do [delete] when I click it anymore. But that’s like the only thing that is troublesome and I will probably get over that. I have messenger back, so that’s good for sometimes. And I’ve started using Open Office, which is a step up from the Office 97 that I was using before, although the interface looks slightly different so I haven’t been able to write anything with it yet. (Just not comfortable with how it looks. That’s probably a writer thing. Just admitting it here makes me feel silly but that’s just how it is.)

I also like that I can make my taskbar green instead of blue in XP. Taskbar? The strip going across the bottom of the screen. It can also be moved to the top, which I do sometimes when I’m bored and procrastinating.

Writing about my computer is very boring, but it’s what’s in my head and I haven’t done anything interesting with it yet to report. Except talk to Kimberly in Quesnel this morning. The “s” in “Quesnel” is silent. If you shuffle the letters around, however, you get “Queen L”. (I made the “s” invisible as well as silent in that last one).

  • Ode to Plump

When I was little I got a doll for Christmas. I named her Plump because I thought this was the most beautiful name.

It occured to me, like 10 minutes ago, when I saw her in the storage room, and said “That’s Plump” out loud, that it’s a silly name. I laughed and laughed.

  • Sometimes I like “The OC” television show. It’s like candy. Sometimes it’s like gross candy that I don’t like, and that’s when I don’t watch it. Other times it’s like those marshmallow strawberries that I don’t eat until they’ve been sitting for a month and get hard and un-marshmallowy. I know this isn’t the way they’re supposed to be enjoyed but it’s how I like to eat them.

Also: Claire Danes on a unicorn.

  • Sometimes, drawing isn’t fast enough.

I have songs in my head that I don’t know any of the words too!

Did you know that George W Bush’s “W” stands for “Walker”? I didn’t til this very minute. I’m making up some jokes, just without even thinking about it.

  • I got a new phone today. It’s blue! and has as few non-phone features as possible although it still has a “shop” icon. I was thinking of actually spending money on a fancy one, but I don’t want mp3 or photo-taking capabilities on my phone.

    I just don’t.

    Leave me alone!

  • Tonight at ballet I didn’t step on my own feet once.

    Yes!

  • Anxiet-tea

Although I don’t know if it cures it or causes it. Also, I don’t like how it’s spelled.

  • So tired and I don’t know why.

My keyboard is sticky and makes me tired just typing upon it.

The power went off Monday night and we went out for supper but it took too long and we didn’t know what time it was and by the time we got back to the van my tap class was over. I was peeved.

Does “peeved” meen, like, “pissed off”? Because that’s the effect I was going for without using the term “pissed off” because that is a bit of a gross term.

I have some new words for the Auto-dictionary.

Namoo: (n; na-MOO) “Nanaimo”, said fast, when in a silly mood. “I’m going to Namoo!” “Where?” “NAMOO!”

Namool: (nickname; na-MOOL) the name “Naomi”, made to rhyme with the word “school”, when in a silly mood. Meet my friend Namool/Who is too cool for school.

  • I totally thought of an ending, Susan! Maybe.

I switched keyboards today because the down arrow key wasn’t working and is very necessary for editing. I’m back on the MS ergonomic again, so my hands sort of cramp if I have to type loong secions of prose. But the down arrow key works. Also the number pad if I feel like doing a budget lately.

I mailed out three Chrismas packages this week, and so three people will be getting collectors editions because I mailed them before I noticed a typo I have since fixed on the others. “Shoot!” I said.

I had tea today. I’ve been drinking it “milky” which means I have to warm it up after I put the milk in because I always steep it for so long to cool it, but then with the milk it gets more cool, but I like the milky richness. Life sure is complicated.

I heard a song from the new Beatles album today. I liked it.

    So, so temporary!
